As reported on NPR and CBC Radio in March of 2015, see Cheezwatch, by Sook-Yin Lee, a woman who left a slice of processed cheese stuck to the outside of her front door window and watched it age over a period of 1 ½ years. It stands up to the elements (including insects and fungus) remarkably well, especially when compared with actual cheese!

Is this the stuff we put into our bodies? I gasp to think about how many moms put these into their children’s lunches! And to top it off, also in March of 2015, Kraft Cheese Singles were awarded the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics stamp of approval for the Healthiest food for Kids under their ‘Kids Eat Right’ campaign. What is going on?

I should point out that for a cheese manufacturing company to label their product as ‘cheese’ the FDA requires the product have at least 51% real cheese in it. Kraft Cheese Singles are labeled as a pasteurized, prepared, cheese product. They cannot legally be called ‘cheese’.

Just thought you should know!
